What book, other than the Bible, has had the most profound impact upon your life?

There have been a few books that have had a profoundly positive impact upon my life. I would have to say that CS Lewis' The Problem of Pain has helped me reconcile the loving power of God with human suffering. Thomas A Kempis' Imitation of Christ challenges the depth of my love for God, much like Oswald Chambers' classic My Utmost for His Highest. Two books I have read recently that have stretched and reinforced my faith in Christ have been Keller's The Reason for God and Chan's Crazy Love.

The two books that have had the most profound impact on my life have been Beth Moore's Jesus the One and Only and her other book Praying God's Word. Jesus the One and Only helped me to stop putting God in a box expecting Him to work in certain ways in my life and to start looking at my walk with Christ as an incredible adventure and find my security in Him. Praying God's Word taught me how scripture used in prayer is a powerful tool used to increase our faith and to overcome the many struggles and hardships life brings.

Thanks Erica. Amy enjoys Beth Moore too. I appreciate how you articulate the important cross-section between prayer and Scripture. They really do assist each other.
